We’re Hiring – Senior Account Manager/Junior Account Director

Role Overview

It’s a great time to join WilsonCooke – we’re well established and have been in business for over 25 years yet we have just moved to a fantastic new office in Manchester city centre and we have huge growth ambitions. To support this we are looking to expand our Client Services team by hiring a Senior Account Manager / Junior Account Director. This is a very exciting opportunity and you will have an active leadership role in the B2B and B2C client accounts that you would be running, along with clear career progression and the chance to refine your skills across all areas of the marketing mix.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years marketing experience in a commercially orientated agency working on both digital and brand accounts and be looking for an opportunity to develop and progress their career. An enthusiastic, proactive, results driven and career focused individual is crucial for this position.

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a close day-to-day, productive relationship with key client contacts and acquire a broad and detailed understanding of the client’s business
  • Oversee, coordinate and manage all account activity and be the central figure within the agency that drives work forward for each of your accounts
  • Lead, brief and manage client delivery, to high standards and meeting agreed deadlines
  • Lead on all digital and traditional marketing activity, bringing synergy to both online and offline initiatives
  • Understand, contribute to and help implement a strategic direction for your client’s brands
    Offer creative ideas to develop exciting campaigns and encourage clients to understand the importance of creativity throughout
  • Plan and manage campaigns from brief through to execution and results analysis
  • Present and report back results to clients, identifying key trends/recommendations/best practice and opportunities for growth
  • Identify areas for agency growth within your client accounts whilst being commercially responsible and highly proactive in this respect


We’re looking for someone who has/is:

  • Experience in a commercial customer/client facing agency role
  • A genuine interest in and proven understanding of all areas of marketing and, in particular, digital marketing and awareness of the roll of SEO, PPC, email and outreach
  • An understanding of brand and brand strategy
  • A strong track record of managing large and small clients and budgets – both B2B and B2C experience would be an advantage
  • Commercially and financially savvy with experience of growing account and agency revenue
  • Proactive in all aspects of work – a genuine self-starter
  • Flexible, open and enthusiastic – a true team player
  • Strong and confident interpersonal skills to persuade, negotiate and establish good working relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Full awareness of the creative process – both on and offline
  • A willingness to try new ideas, be brave and learn from their successes and failures
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a cool outlook
  • Thorough with a keen eye for detail, always striving to improve and able to maintain high quality standards
